Professional, Empathetic, Counseling for Individuals and Families
As a compassionate, empathetic, and supportive counselor, I employ a variety of evidence-based treatment approaches, including: cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, relapse prevention, strength-based therapy, and solution-focused brief therapy. Utilizing my formal education in social work and my work experiences with diverse populations, my goal is to help clients thrive regardless of life circumstances.
A Licensed Master of Social Work therapist with a counseling practice in Wilton, CT, I have more than 25 years of experience in the field, working with adults, adolescents, and children. After earning my undergraduate degree from the University of Colorado Boulder, in 1992, with a focus on Sociology and Criminology, and my Master’s Degree in Social Work in 1997 from the University of Denver with a concentration in drug dependency, I began my career as a case manager in community corrections. Since then I have worked with Family and Children’s Agency, the Salvation Army, Wilton Social Services, Au Pair in America, and the Connecticut Department of Children and Families. I also have extensive experience coordinating groups, volunteer programs, and fundraising events.
I have been married for almost 30 years and have four children. I work with individuals and families from Wilton, New Canaan, Westport, Stamford, Norwalk, Greenwich, Fairfield, Salisbury, and other surrounding Connecticut and New York communities, and am available for virtual consultations with individuals and families across the country and around the world. I look forward to hearing from you and speaking with you about your individual or family goals.
